Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus...

This morning at church was such a blessing! I am so blessed to be surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses. I have always been surrounded by those who not only love me, but love my Father and Savior more than anything. I never have had to wonder about the faith of my church...its apparent in everything that they do.

This morning, we gathered to pray over one from our church who has recently received a diagnosis that is not one that was welcomed. As our church gathered and prayed over her, I could not stop thinking of how blessed I am to be surrounded by these people! After praying we sang "Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus". Here is the first verse of this favorite hymn:

"Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word. Just to rest upon His promise, just to know thus saith the Lord."

My church has such faith in my Father and has always trusted in his word. It says in John 14:1 " 'Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; Trust also in me.' "

Trust. Its a simple thing to say. Its hard to do. Its hard to put aside the ideas of this world and to just trust that there is a God who loves you and has your best in mind. But walking into my church, you never see doubt. No matter what is going on in the lives of those around me, there is always trust.

Aaron, a senior at our church, wrote a song and played it today. He is without a doubt one of the best guitar players I have ever heard. And he writes beautifully-he writes from the heart. One line that stuck out to me in his song was this:

"This is my life, I'm just a sinner.....:Lord, I'm yours."

I pray that I can take on the attitude of my church more and more each day. I have been so blessed to be surrounded by this incredible group of people and God has blessed me by the amount of love I am surrounded by. I pray that trust is not something that is just said, and that I can say in any situation, Lord, I'm yours.
