Lately, Job has really been on my heart. I'm not sure why, but I know that the Lord has placed the story of Job on my heart for a reason.
I find the story of Job so inspiring and a story that really is motivational.
I'm sure those of you who are familiar with the story are reading what I said and the word "motivational" is not one that first comes to mind.
The basic story is that Job was a man who was blameless in the Lord's sight. He was a man who really desired to love God above all else and stayed far away from sin. Satan was given permission by God to test Job and his faith with the promise that he would not lay a hand on Job.
In one day, Job lost all of his herds, all his children and everything that was dear to him. But what was Job's response? He simply replied:
"Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and naked I will depart.
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised.”
(Job 1: 21)
Job, despite everything that happened to him, still stood strong in his faith. He still held fast to the love of the Lord. He desired God above all else.
I am so motivated by Job. I want to desire God above all else. I want to be so in love with God that the thought of losing things here on Earth, although sad at the time, would amount to nothing in the end. I want to be like Job.
God has placed this story on my heart to challenge me to be like Job. And it is a challenge that i am eager to accept. I love my life and the things that the Lord has blessed me with. I know through it all that the name of the Lord will be praised!
I share this with you all so that you will feel inspired by Job, and you might begin to desire God above all else.
ahh, i like this. thank you hannah :)
