Thankful for my Mom

Today is my sweet, sweet mother's birthday! I have been so blessed with the world's best parents ( and yes, this is true. Argue if you may, but you will still be wrong). My mom is truly one of the greatest women I know. Since she might not want to have her age mentioned on this (although she really could pass for a woman of 30) I have decided to write 14 things that I love about my mom:
1. She is consistent. My mom is always the same person, and I love that she never changes who she is.
2. She is patient. I know that I push her buttons sometimes, but she still puts up with me =)
3. She is strong. My mother has faith that I only dream of having one day. I know that God is still working in and through her and that makes me so happy!
4.She is compassionate. My mom cares for others with her whole heart, and I admire this so much.
5. She is loving. My mom gives the best hugs and is always there when I need her.
6. She is fun. My mom always knows what to do to enjoy herself. I love the games we play and the time spent together.
7. She is creative. I love that my mom can look at something that to others seems useless and find a purpose in it. I think it takes a great person to see potential in what is forgotten.
8. She is beautiful. My mom has got to be the most beautiful woman I know, inside and out. Her love for Christ and others radiates through her and I can always see Christ in her.
9. She is a teacher. Mom constantly is teaching me something that is valuable and I love that she never stops showing me where to go.
10. She is faithful. No matter what, you can always count on my mom. End of story.
11. She is encouraging. Most people have not had to endure what my mom endures, yet she does so with a kind of strength I could only dream of, and that is so encouraging to me and so many others.
12. She is seeking. My mom continues to seek after Christ. She is not satisfied with where she is and she constantly strives to grow in her relationship with Christ.
13. She is a wonderful example of a mom and wife. My mom demonstrates what a marriage looks like. She shows me what it means to be a lover of Christ and to carry that through to relationships and I admire this so much.
14. She is my best friend. My mom is always there for me. I am closer to my mom than almost anyone else. I can talk to her about anything and I deeply treasure those moments of conversation we have.

I know that most people can say these things about anyone, but these truly are qualities of my mom that I admire deeply. I admire my mom in so many ways and love to be told that "I am my mom's child." To me, that is the greatest compliment I could ever receive.

Thanks, mom, for being such a great example to me of Christ and love. I cherish our moments together and look forward constantly to when I will see you again. I love you and hope that you have an absolutely fantastic birthday. You will never know just how much you mean to me.
