In Times of War...

Yesterday, we celebrated Veteran's Day. This is a day that I look forward to every year. I love seeing our country come together and show respect for the men and women who so diligently work to preserve our freedom.

Today, it is highly debated if war is a good or a bad thing. I do not love the idea of war, however I do see it as a necessary thing in certain times in order to maintain peace. I will always support our military and the lives that the people in the military lead. I will always have respect for them. I will alwys tear up some when I see someone in a uniform. I will always fnd joy in seeing families, who have been separated for months, rejoice in the return of a loved one. I will always love the armed forces.

My sister showed me this verse and I do feel it is very much an appropriate verse for veteran's day:

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:13

How beautiful of a thought! I know that some people reading this might not like war or understand it, but in my mind, those who serve in the military demonstrate the greatest act of love: to offer their lives for us.

Christ did this for us. And it is an amazing thing to see soldiers doing that for us.

People argue that war cannot be something of Christians, but I see it as something that does effect us all. War affects everyone in different ways. War affected Christ, and war affects us today. But still, it remains an act of love to bravely lay down yourself for someone else.

Thank you all who serve our country and willingly enter the battlefield everyday. Words cannot express how deeply greatful I am to the work that you do. I am truly appreciative of the lives you lead.
