Lately, I have had stained glass windows on my mind. I have always loved stained gladd and have always thought they are just stunning.
And yesterday, it hit me: We all are like stained glass.
You see, stained glass is broken. These broken pieces are then formed into a design that is beautiful. However, without light shining through, it still remains in darkness, and in essence is pointless.
But the moment that light is allowed to shine through, the image that is released is truly breathtaking.
We are the broken pieces of glass that have been formed and created into a beautiful image. But we only see this beautiful masterpiece once we allow the Lord's light to shine through us. Only then can others see the reflection of Him through us.
It says in Isaiah 45:7: "I form the light and create darkness,I bring prosperity and create disaster;I, the LORD, do all these things."
Just like in the stained glass, it is Christ who brings the light in our lives. It is Christ who gives us the life we desire to live. It is through Him and Him alone that these things are done.
I desire to be a masterpiece. I desire to be a broken masterpiece, molded and broken and created by my Father in a way that allows for His light to be reflected in me.
Make me stained glass. Make me a masterpiece.
