Beauty

Beauty is something that is everywhere we look, and as a college girl, I most definitely struggle with this. And today I started to think, "what if i looked at others and myself and saw the beauty that God saw? How different would I feel?" so I began to think about this and here is what I have come up with:

It says in Genesis that we are created in God's image. To me, that means that God had an image of you in mind when you were created. A perfect image. He created you in the most perfect way....and he LOVES you that way.

So knowing this, what if every time we saw someone, we defined beauty by this: that God created them in the same way he created us. Instead of saying "Wow she (or he) is so pretty, why can't i look that way?" we stopped and said "Thank you God for demonstrating your love for us by showing us beauty to its fullest!"

How much different then would our idea or beauty and our perceptions of ourselves change? I can honestly say this is a hard thing to do, but even in the day that I have done it, I have begun to feel so much better about who God made me. What do you consider beautiful? How do you define beauty? God's definition of beauty is evident: just take a look around.
