Crayons =)

After my dear sweet sister posted her blog about coloring, crayons have been on my mind =). I love coloring just like any other American kid, and honestly, this past week, the Lord has revealed Himself to me through coloring.

I think that our lives can be represented by crayons. Think about it.
Like crayons, we have a home (or box in the case of crayons) Sometimes, we just enjoy dwelling there and enjoy the company of those around us in our own environment. But by being here and not allowing time outside, what purpose are we filling? Because, like a crayon, we aren't filling any purpose.

It is only when we are taken out of our home and moved to a place where we can be used for beauty that we are allowed to truly fulfill our purpose.

Sometimes, crayons need to be sharpened. They need to be made new in what they already have. Again, sometimes we need a little bit of refreshing and sharpening in our lives. We need that time to really focus again on what we are to do and we need to be reminded of what is important in life.

And here is the greatest thing: The crayon can only fulfill its purpose when there is pressure applied. Only then can the beauty that it has be used to color the blank page in front of it. Only then can others truly see the color it has and only then can it brighten someones day.

We need pressure applied to us sometimes. Sometimes we need to allow the Lord to apply pressure to our lives. Then, we allow our beauty to flow forth. Then, we allow Christ to flow forth from us.

It is ok to be in our homes and to have that community, but it is important to use the beauty we have to color this world in amazing ways.

=) Now, go color your world, and even, once pressure is applied, the world outside your comfort zone.
