I know that I have blogged about the power of prayer before, but I have been thinking recently of the power there is in God's word.
Yesterday at church was wonderful. For one, Sunday School was very inspiring. We discussed discipleship and what that means, and we will continue to dissect that for the semester. I am so ready to understand my calling in this area of life.
Then, we sang a song in church that has been on my mind and really just prepared my heart for the day. I love how God works through his people and music.
But I was completely inspired by God's word yesterday, and His truth has continue to help me today.
The sermon was about David, and just briefly he referenced Romans 8:28. And of course, I looked it up and this is what I found:
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
I know I say this often, but really, dwell on that.
No matter what happens God works for your good.
Think about the life of David:
He committed adultry.
He lied.
He murdered.
And on top of that he lost four....not one, four....sons.
And you have to ask yourself after reading these stats, where is this good? Where was God in this? What truth can there be in that God works for the good of those who love him?
Solomon.
One of the wisest men to ever walk the earth.
One of the greatest men of God to live.
So, look past the hurt.
Look past the pain.
Look past the anger.
Look past the disappointment.
Look past the lost.
Look past what seems hopeless.
And dwell in this truth: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to his purpose."
Don't believe me? Take a long look at Solomon.
And see the truth in that.
I guarantee that this truth will be revealed in your life; just be patient and allow God's timing to shape yours.
