Obedience

Yesterday was great! I went to the DFW airport with Ty's parents to pick him up. It was so good to see him and to visit after not talking for a little less than two weeks. It was so encouraging and exciting to hear how God is working through my friends and many others over in Japan! Yesterday was definitely a blessing for me to see the work of God being played out.

That night, we went to youth group at his church in Rio. I had the priviledge of meeting some great men of faith, and also got to see some friends that I didn't expect to see!

Again, God just continued to speak to me. We were discussing the bible and where it came from. One thing that really stuck out in my mind was the verses Exodus 24:3-4a: When Moses went and told the people all the LORD's words and laws, they responded with one voice, "Everything the LORD has said we will do." Moses then wrote down everything the LORD had said. "

How awesome is the faith of these people? And not only the faith, but the obedience? It says that they responded "everything". Not the things that seem convinient or the things they wanted to obey, but EVERYTHING the Lord has said, they will do.

But that doesn't end with them. It applies now and to us as well. But honestly, so many times I know I struggle with being completely obedient to Christ and to what he has asked of me. So many times, I don't treat others the way they should, or a little lie might slip from my mouth. I want to be one of those who doesn't question, but obeys without a second thought. I mean think about it. He gave his life for us! Don't we owe it to Him to show our love by being completely obedient?
