Lately, it has been funny to me to watch the world (or at the my little world) go crazy about the world series. I mean people who really do not know anything about baseball suddenly care about the outcome of these 7 games. It's crazy to me that we live in a society that gets so excited by so little.
But, why not find excitement in our Father, and the encouragement we find in Him?
"Come, everyone! Clap your hands!
Shout to God with joyful praise!
For the Lord Most High is awesome.
He is the great King of all the earth.
He subdues the nations before us,
putting our enemies beneath our feet."
Psalm 47: 1-3
What if, instead of clapping our hands for a few talented players, we clapped our hands in excitement for the joy our Father brings to us? What if, instead of shouting at the umpires or the players, who quite honestly can't hear us, we shouted to God praising his name?
I am not trying to bash the world series, but what I am trying to say is what if we turned the praise we give to people into praise for the Creator of everything?
What if we just took a moment to get back to Christ and forget this world?
Only then, when we are truly focused on Him, will we ever see true joy and experience real excitement.
