James 1:27

I recently posted about my friend Lauren (Lo) and how much I miss her. Well, she is home from Africa! She got home yesterday morning. Although she is sick and her luggage is still in New York, she assured me that this is one of the best things she has done in her life and cannot wait to tell me about it. I am so blessed by the people in my life. How cool is it that my best friend chooses to spend her summer serving in Africa? How cool is it that I could name at least ten people I am close to that are working overseas, in churches, at church camps, or in other forms of ministry this summer? Not only are my friends serving, but my family as well. Leah, my sweet sweet baby sister, gave up a week of her summer to deliver food down to the boarder with my dad-how many teens give up a week of their time to serve others?! Any Rebekah has a friend that posted on her facebook (yes I was creeping, so what?) how much she loved my sisters company and looks forward to bible studies with her...how awesome that I am surrounded by these incredible people!!

Anyways, Lauren posted some pictures and I wanted to share them here as they have touched me greatly. As I looked through these pictures, one thing came to mind: "Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world." James 1:27

Lauren and her team visited those orphans in Africa in their distress and has worked to share the love of Christ through that...if that isn't true love, then I don't know what is!

While in Africa, Lauren and her team filled 2,200 prescriptions and saw over 1,000 patients-in only one week! How awesome is our God!

I will be done rambling now and show the pictures, but I am just amazed by the love I have in my life and how those I love are serving God all over, in Africa, in Japan, in other States, in Longview, in Clifton....everywhere. I am so blessed.
