This past weekend has been such a great time spent with friends, loved ones, and just the chance to really enjoy life. I had a surprise visit from my sweet baby sister Leah and two wonderful friends from High school, K'Leigh and Paige. They were headed back from SFA and I gave them a tour of Baylor. The pictures demonstrate what happens when four girls take a walk around a college campus....hehe. And yes, I did allow for the "guns" to be "put up" on the Baylor campus, but what can I say? I love these girls more than my school so I felt it very appropriate to allow.
Our sermon on Sunday was just a complete blesssing! We talked about purposeful encounters and one of the verses that we looked over is my all time favorite from Acts:
"And Now, compelled by the Spirit, i am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
How wonderful is that?! I mean I desire so much to be at the point where I am not afraid of what lies ahead. I have recently gone through some things that just seem so hard to bear but this was the perfect reminder right before the end of school. I know that life is going to be hard, but why not just embrace these encounters and use them for the glory of God?? I mean that is why we are here!
So, basically this weekend has been one of great company and wonderful insight. I am blessed by the ones I love and by my church home here in Waco, and I am completely ready to tackle finals this weekend....maybe. =)
